1.) Light - let in as much natural light as possible, and keep window treatments light and airy, as not to draw the eye inward.
2.) Colors - Try and use a mix of lighter and neutral tones throughout your space. From furniture to wall colors and flooring, lighter more neutral colors will help the eye soar across the room.
3.) Moderate sized furniture: you can swallow up a room with just a couch! Determine how much furniture you absolutely need to feel comfortable, but still allow for clear defined areas to walk around the furniture. This will also help your room look larger.
