The base is black and the stripes are beige, black and white.

You can probably go with any color. Since black, beige and white are all nuetral, you can pick any color scheme to go with it. You can choose from warm colors, Orange-Red-Rust-Yellow family or cool colors, Blues-Purple or maybe go for something Citrusy like a Green-Orange-Yellow scheme. You have to decide what look you want to live with. The cushions and curtains will look best in a combination of nuetral and focal color, with more of the nuetral shade coming thru. Hope i helped!

I think you need to decide what sort of colours you want? Warm? Bright? Dark? Zingy? Pastel?

Hi, I agree that dark brown is not that nice a color for the room. Yet it is not a difficult job for you to find a nicer color. Many colors will be just fine for your room and it is just a personal preference. I've attached some photos here for your reference.

Orange sounds good..so a beige sofa with orange, green and gold cushions with orange curtains should look good?

Maybe you should go with a more whiter shade for the sofa/off-whitish if you are looking at so many colored cushions. Beige may not give the effect you are looking at..

orange and teal get my votes with dark brown and cream! And yes, I think you should recover the couch to a solid color, with whatever color you decide to add! :)

Hi---some more ideas for you.
I do think a solid sofa is better since most of your furniture is dark in color. A rug would bring in some color as well as pattern and would warm up the tiled floor. Solid window panels in any hue could work. More pattern and texture could be introduced with pillows and art. Hope this is helpful... Thanks everyone..I have decided to change the sofa to a off white color with colorful cushions and matching curtains!
