In my opinion, a cuckoo clock is a very detailed design, but you say you want a simple design for the room.

When you say simple, are you thinking of no wallpaper, no wainscoting, and no accent color on the walls?

It seems as if dark orange is a color you favor. I see it in art images and in your curtain color.

If this was my space, I would paint all the walls one or two shades lighter than the beige of the sofa to keep the room as bright as possible because the room has no direct sunlight. I would paint the ceiling 1/4 (one part wall color to three parts white). I would use a satin or eggshell paint instead of matte, semi-gloss, or high-gloss paint.

I see some discoloration on the wall behind the sofa where the brown color of the sofa frame has worn off onto the wall. I suggest attaching bumper dots or strips on the wood frame of the sofa (similar to the ones used to keep cabinet doors from making a lot noise when they are closed quickly).

I would consider painting the sides of the column with the cuckoo clock brown to match the clock. I would do this to call attention to the clock.

I would remove the orange curtains and replace them with floor-to-ceiling length draperies hung as close to the ceiling as possible to make the room seem larger and taller. I would change the drapery color to match the walls, perhaps in a muslin-like fabric, which is a casual fabric.

I always take my art to a professional framer. I have conservation matting and museum glass used for my art. I would have the three images you have rearranged as a collage in a very large single frame with medium to wide matting between the images. I would have the mat and frame color(s) enhance the images, even if it is a color I might never have thought of on my own. I would hang it above the sofa.

I would use the orange drapery fabric to make throw pillows for the sofas.

You did not attach a photo of the flooring in the room. A medium tone floor is easier to keep looking clean than a light floor/rug or a very dark floor/rug.

Other "Houzzers" will give you completely different ideas. Use the ideas YOU like and enjoy your home!

images and requirements. This was my first post on houzz.com and I
feel pleasantly welcomed with a detailed answer.

Let me clarify things on my requirements
1. I am not really redesigning the space. Primarily re-doing color to
a different scheme for entire home and changing curtain/drapings to
match new scheme.
2. Yes - When I say simple design- I mean no POP, no wallpaper, no
wainscoting, but YES to accent color on the (1) wall or on 1 column
(the one having the clock)
3. Cuckoo clock could have gone another room in my house...but given
that I have an adorable 10 month baby girl who gets excited everytime
cuckoo gives a call - I want to keep the clock in living room to keep
her occupied.
4. Wall colors - I think I like your suggestion of two shades lighter
than beige of Sofa. (I am also toying at idea of light shades of
coffee/brown but lack of direct sunlight may rule it out)
5. My liking for orange seems to be subconscious (I do have strong
liking for rose color for all wooden furniture)
6. The artwork is a gift from a painter friend of mine. (He had it
framed already). I will surely consider your idea on doing a joint
frame.
7. The Floor tone is another piece that I will appreciate you response... I have attached a picture.

You could go to a green like: which would showoff the cream in the sofa and the brown. I would do simple matchstick blinds on the window. Also, I think your art would look better hung with all the lower edges level and the large one in the center over the sofa.

Now that I know you have a baby in the house, I agree with Houssaon about using matchstick blinds for the windows. You do not want the baby pulling the draperies to help stand up!

Now that I know the artwork was a gift from an artist and wal already framed, I wold do just as Houssaon suggested. Line up the bottom of the frames and hang the largest one in the center.

The floor tile is easy for the baby to crawl on, even if it is hard. It is also easier to mop a floor than to clean a carpet.

When your daughter begins to walk, she will fall often. I would put some kind of carpet/area rug on the floor at that time so she does not hurt herself.

@Houssaon - Thanks - I love "barefoot in grass"color. We have similar shade in my office conf. room. It looks so good. I will also try the re-org of frames in the software I have downloaded.

@etiza - Thanks. That's the plan - upgrade the tiles with a soft covering once my starts walking/running.
