Kitchen backsplash - which tiles for a white Cottage/Farmhouse kitchen
Comments (8)Hi Rasa, Nice to hear from you and I’m glad I was able to give you some inspiration for your kitchen tiles. I’ve included another image for you to look at that shows more of a farm house style kitchen with the coloured tiles. If you worried the coloured tiles might look too contemporary for your space, I would advise going for quite soft, muted colour tones to give you the same effect but in a more rustic style. You can see in the attached image how they have used a soft sheen, textured tile in neutral tones, with a subtle hint of colour to be in-keeping with that farmhouse feel. For your tile colours, you could pick up the off white tone of your cabinets with the grey in the granite, and a very soft hint of green or blue to add a little colour to achieve the same look for your kitchen. I have also added some paint swatches below you could use as reference for tile colours to help you visualise the combination. Off white: Greys: Blue or Green: Hopefully this answers your questions for you and I’d love to see some pictures when your project is finished. Good luck with the decorating. Comments (11)Hi Pranav, Here are a few suggestions: 1] Modular Office furnitureThis would be easy to move around if and when you need to relocate in the future. Avoid fixed furniture wherever possible. 2] Kid's BedThese days you get convertible cots that "grow" with you child. The are a good investment and take lesser vertical space as compared to bunker beds. You may find these online as well as in stores selling kid's stuff. 3] Study TableThe study table can serve you as well you child if you want. Since, you child is pretty young you may use it for your own work, storage, devices and printers. In the image below the study is designed to serve both kids and adults. 4] WardrobeSince this is going to be a fixed and lasting furniture unit, invest well. You may make it sustainable by cladding it with wallpaper which can subsequently change as per your child's requirements. Kids grow fast and with them their choices and muses change rapidly. Wallpapers come handy in such a case as compared to laminates which are more permanent. Alternatively, you may opt for chalkboard laminates. These are low maintenance and can be written or drawn upon while being easily cleaned. The wardrobe can serve as a writing board for you too. This way both the purposes are served - yours and your kid's. Hope these ideas inspire you. All the best! Regards, RnD Atelier Nagpur...See MorePlease suggest modifications in our living room
Comments (77)I feel partitions are not needed. You already have too much for the space. Adding a partition will shrink the space further. The simplistic solution, you do not wish to discard any furniture would be to paint all the walls in lighter pastles. And use some wall painting frames to highlight certain walls....See Morekitchen interior looks good?
Comments (15)My method of covering the exhaust pipe would be a plywood box treated (as in painted) to look like the wall. instead of this heavy look. so if you were to let the box touch the ceiling, it's even easier to camouflage with wall paint....See Morejdubb
