I think you are talking about a vanity to put in the bedroom, not the bathroom. Is that correct? If it is correct, then I think your idea of cherry wood for the vanity is a good one. It certainly doesn't have to match exactly. In fact, we mix a lot of wood stains these days. If you're interested in a vanity for the bathroom, that's a totally different thing. I see part of the bathroom in the photos. You could have a faux artist come and paint the existing bath vanity to match your bed if you want to go in that direction. But you state that you want a modern bathroom, so maybe you have something else in mind. I've selected 4 different baths that might appeal to you. Do you have any photos you can share? We do better with both floor plan and pix. I think the 9' area should be devoted to a library/reading nook with bookcases on the two walls and a comfy chair and floor lamp for reading. I see lots of doors but no windows in your space. The stretch of space from the entry to the balcony/gallery should be kept open for traffic flow, so Place the FP on the 7.5' wall to be seen upon entering. I think 'd try a sectional with two equal wings. Put the TV on the 7' wall between the two doors and float the sofa so one wing faces the FP and the other the TV. Use a credenza 25% wider than the TV rather than a TV stand. In the jog that has a 6' and a 4' wall, try a family game or chess table and stools. Be sure to get a big coffee table made of reclaimed wood so people can put their feet up on it.

Our bathroom is the smallest room in our house. Width = 5 feet and depth = 8 feet. This is this the size of our bathroom. What does this size give us ? A step over bathtub with shower, A small vanity with matching small medicine cab, a toilet (of course), shelves over the toilet, a floor to ceiling (skinny width) closet to house things like towels.

Are you speaking of a glass shower enclosure? What is there now? If a shower what size? Please either pictures with dimensions or a floor plan to scale with dimensions.
