Since the sofa is of darker shade go for a light shade of area rug/ carpet. Look for low pile carpet which are easy to clean....do not go in for the fluff ones. Buy a carpet big enough to cover the sitting area....at least 8*10. Make sure the front legs of the sofa comes on the carpet....place a large coffee table or even two medium size u can combine and place together. You can add two nice comfy chairs opposite the sofa to add more seating. Some nice pop of colour.

Yes your right Abhisek it does look a little dull coz the walls are bare and nothing is put together. Once you put up the curtains and add some cushions and a coffee table and place some of ur personal decorative things everything will look put together. Looking at the pic I feel like u want a neutral colour palette so depending on that yes u can go for cream or very light hues of brown like beige or even some pastel colours will look very nice. U don’t have to match everything exactly same colour but try and stay in the same colour with different shades. You can also add one piece of contrast to add that pop of colour so it doesn’t look too pale. Maybe u can try and rearrange ur furniture if possible coz ur sofa seems to be quite far from the tv unit....it’s not necessary to leave the entire passage going to the balcony open...I think u can pull ur sofa a bit closer. The morning light in your room looks nice, but that seems to be coming from the bedroom area. I would suggest bright white paint on the window wall. One accent wall, preferably the one directly opposite the door wall since it will be in direct view when you enter. Paint it any colour you like but keep in mind to maintain the palette. It should be visible in the search you prepare for the other items. in case you are conflicted, go with wooden furniture and white or grey upholstery. If you are considering reflooring, I would suggest a neutral tone so you may have more options since the one you have now looks to be red which would limit your colour options. if you want more pattern to your flooring, geometric patterns in black and white add some form while maintaining that palette freedom. If however you wish for more colourful floors, I would suggest you decide on your palette before so you can choose wisely. Neutral tones also allow you to choose between a vast array of materials, from stone to tile to vinyl sheeting. if you want that wooden look without compromising on the waterproof property, you could look into vinyl sheets.
