Hi Ni, I just thought of something....did you say you planned to do the stencil motifs on the window wall? If so, I am thinking they will be mostly hidden by the curtains. I wonder if it might be better to stencil the long wall that is on the right side of the room when looking toward the window. I could see this being a pretty backdrop to the prayer box (I think that’s what you called it?) and your wood cuttings. Then maybe the opposite wall (the one with the kitchen doorway) could hold a large piece of art?

Your right. I think it might look better without the couch. We just purchased the gray couch and moved the brown couch there until we sell it. Now that the brown couch is there my husband likes it. He likes to read his newspaper in the morning on it. I was thinking of putting a side table in place of the couch of getting a cover for it.

I have a couple of suggestions for you. Recover sofa in a very light gray fabric, and add pillows in various blue tones, plus add art to wall. Or if you like a more muted colour scheme, this is nice with light Aqua and some yellow and gray pillows. It looks good with dark brown.

The headboard is definitely bright and lovely. but the window arch also gives nice rustic look to the room and makes it different
