How high is your ceiling if only 8' I would not put in false ceiling. This is a small space for all you want in it so I would keep it very simple.These pics are form a LR and DR in a 11' x25' space and we had 9 1/2 ' ceilings so we put in crown molding but that was all. In your case i would put the T.V where we had an empty fireplace space.

Normally the beams would help define each space.
